On January 2nd 2018, the National Weather Service issued a hard freeze warning forecasting temperatures below 25°, Silversands took immediate precautionary measures to protect the community’s planting and irrigation system. There was no assessable damage to any of the flowerbeds due to the winter blankets installed specifically in the areas with vulnerable plant material. The current seasonal plant selection in Shadow Creek Ranch consists of cold-hardy plants able to thrive in cold weather and withstand freezing temperatures including hard frost for short periods without injury.
